Gate Lodge – Site Visit

Some pictures from a recent site visit to the Gate Lodge on a rather damp summers day, where things are beginning to take shape.

The cedar, from the trees felled in clearing the site, is now making its way back as structure, windows and doors from the joinery workshop – only a stones throw up the road.

Two New Projects

We have just put up two new extensions in our Projects section;

Recasting involves the extension and remodelling of a 1920′s bungalow on a busy road where the design draws the living quarters down the hill into a new relationship with the garden while the rooms of the bungalow are given over to entrance, bedrooms and bathroom.

Bricolage & Weathering aims to minimally but strategically extend while transforming a house and garden. A new concrete casting, clad in Corten steel at the rear creates a hinge or joint between house and garden, adding space and light to an opened out kitchen dining and living space.
